We are thrilled to introduce the MSL-50, a revolutionary modular solar-powered LED lighting system developed for shelters and canopies lacking mains power. Showcasing for the first time at the Highways Electrical Association’s (HEA) Annual Conference on 14th November, the MSL-50 provides a durable, energy-efficient solution for public spaces that need safe, reliable lighting without costly power connections.

Constructed from 316-grade stainless steel and equipped with a toughened glass lens, the MSL-50 is engineered to withstand even the most challenging conditions. With IP65 and IK10 ratings, it’s designed to resist vandalism and environmental elements, making it ideal for bus shelters, canopies, and other public structures.
Efficient, eco-friendly operation
Powered by a 65W monocrystalline solar panel, the MSL-50 operates at 24% efficiency and provides up to 61 hours of autonomy, delivering light night after night without grid dependency. The long-lasting LiFePO4 battery significantly reduces maintenance and replacement frequency, providing up to a decade of reliable use.
Already enhancing safety and energy savings at Luton’s bus shelters, the MSL-50 showcases its real-world impact as cities adopt off-grid solutions to meet sustainable urban lighting needs.
Our story
The idea for Acrospire was formed in 2012 when founder Tim envisioned a different kind of lighting manufacturer: one that would not only deliver outstanding customer experiences but also prioritise fair treatment for its employees.
We’ve come a long way
Motivated by the belief the industry wanted and needed better, Tim shared his plan to establish his own venture with Hatty, who simply couldn't let him do it alone.
The rest, as they say, is history.

Working from a rented office by day and assembling lanterns in a garage at night, Tim and Hatty set to work.
11 Years later
Acrospire now inhabits a 14000² ft manufacturing facility in Basingstoke, Hampshire. We’re a proud partner of the Made in Britain scheme, ISO9001 certified and a member of all relevant lighting industry trade bodies.
