Employee appreciation post: Paul McCarthy’s Digital Hall of Fame

Welcome to our latest edition of our Digital Hall of Fame, where we shine a spotlight on the individuals who are the heartbeat of Acrospire. New to the Hall of Fame is Paul McCarthy, our Production Manager and a fully qualified chef (not many people know this).

Paul started his lighting days at Urbis, where he honed his skills as a paint sprayer, even stepping up to cover for the supervisor when needed. Fast forward to Acrospire, and Paul’s expertise in column, bracket assembly, and lantern builds became invaluable. He doesn’t just get things done; he optimises them! Whether it’s tackling a customer challenge or meeting a deadline at all costs (even if it means pulling an extra shift), Paul’s commitment is legendary.

But Paul’s leadership goes beyond technical skills. He leads his team with passion and integrity, instilling the company’s core values in every member.

He’s also our newly qualified 5S ambassador, driving continuous improvement in production with the same zeal he brings to everything else.

Let’s just say Paul’s not just a teammate; he’s an integral part of the Acrospire family. We recently sat down with him to get to know him better.

Tell me a little more about you outside of work, hobbies, loves, and what you enjoy doing in your free time.
I keep as fit as possible and love a bit of fishing, watching football and cooking a Ruby Murray (curry for those of us not in the know).

What do you think is the best thing about Acrospire? What do you enjoy most about your role?
The best thing about Acrospire is the people I work with every day. It is the best company I have ever worked for; I love that my role involves always working on different projects – It doesn’t get boring!

Who or what inspires you the most these days? Why?
My old man! He made me the man I am today and taught me most things in life!

If there is one thing you could eat for the rest of your life, what would it be?
It’s got to be RIBs! Always tasty!

What’s your favourite film and why?
Enter the Dragon! Bruce Lee is just a legend!
